Qubitlance Media Private Limited ("Qubitlance", "Company", "We", "Us", "Our") operates the matrimonial platform kunkupatri.com ("Platform" or "KP"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal data when you access or use the Platform. This policy applies to all Users of the Platform, whether registered or not.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDPA"), as applicable and amended from time to time.

By accessing or using the Platform, you consent to the collection, processing, and use of your personal data as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Qubitlance Media Private Limited acts as the Data Fiduciary responsible for processing your personal data.

2. Personal Data We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, password, and authentication details (including Google Sign-In credentials)
  • Profile Information: Date of birth, gender, marital status, height, weight, physical attributes, education, occupation, income, religion, caste, sub-caste (gotra/clan), mother tongue, and other matrimonial details
  • Family Information: Family type, family status, number of siblings, father's and mother's occupation, and other family details as provided
  • Contact Information: Address, city, state, country, and pin code
  • Photographs: Profile photos and additional photos uploaded by you
  • Payment Information: Transaction details, subscription plan, and payment status (card/bank details are processed by Razorpay and are not stored by KP)
  • Messages and Communications: Messages sent through the Platform's chat and messaging features, interest requests, and support tickets
  • Preferences: Partner preferences, notification settings, privacy settings, and communication preferences

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, browser type, screen resolution, and unique device identifiers
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the Platform, search queries, and interaction patterns
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, referring URLs, and error logs
  • Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymised usage statistics collected through Firebase Analytics and Google Tag Manager

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Google Sign-In: If you register or sign in using Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as authorised by you through Google's API
  • Razorpay: Payment confirmation and transaction status (no card or bank details are shared with KP)

3. Purpose of Data Processing

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Providing Services: To create and manage your account, display your profile to other Users, facilitate matches, and enable communication between Users
  • Verification and Trust: To verify your identity (email, phone), prevent fraud, and enhance platform safety
  • Payment Processing: To process subscription payments, manage billing, and maintain financial records as required by law
  • Communication: To send service-related notifications, security alerts, and feature updates
  • Improvement and Analytics: To analyse usage patterns, improve Platform features, fix bugs, and enhance user experience
  • Customer Support: To respond to your queries, resolve complaints, and provide assistance through our support system
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, and legal processes
  • Safety and Security: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service
  • AI-Assisted Processing: To assist in profile verification, content moderation, and customer support (see Section 5)

The legal basis for processing your data includes your consent, performance of contract (our Terms of Service), compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Platform.


4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Platform uses the following cookies and tracking technologies:

  • Firebase Authentication: Session cookies to maintain your login state
  • Firebase Analytics: Usage analytics to understand how Users interact with the Platform
  • Google Tag Manager (GTM): Tag management for analytics and marketing scripts
  • Facebook Pixel (Meta): Conversion tracking and audience analytics for advertising campaigns
  • Google reCAPTCHA: Bot detection and spam prevention; subject to Google's Privacy Policy
  • Local Storage: To store user preferences, authentication tokens, and application state on your device
  • Service Worker (PWA): For offline functionality and push notification support

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. However, disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.


5. AI and Automated Processing

  1. KP uses artificial intelligence services provided by Anthropic (Claude) for the following purposes:

    • Assisting in profile verification by reviewing profile information for consistency and completeness
    • Powering customer support to respond to User queries and support tickets
  2. Scope of Data Shared: Only summarised profile information (such as profile text and basic details) may be sent to AI services. Photographs, payment details, and private messages are never shared with AI services.

  3. Human Review: You may request human review of any AI-assisted decision by contacting us at support@kunkupatri.com.

  4. AI-generated outputs are used as assistive tools and are subject to human oversight. No automated decision-making with legal or significant effects is performed solely by AI without human review.


6. Data Sharing

6.1 With Other Users

Your profile information is shared with other registered Users of the Platform in accordance with your privacy settings. You control the visibility of your photographs, phone number, and address through your account settings. Contact details are shared only with your explicit approval.

6.2 With Service Providers (Data Processors)

We share your data with the following third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Firebase / Google Cloud (Google LLC) — Authentication, database, hosting, cloud messaging, and analytics. Data may be processed in the United States.
  • Razorpay Software Private Limited — Payment processing. Payment data is processed in India.
  • Google (reCAPTCHA, Places API, Tag Manager) — Bot detection, location services, and tag management. Data may be processed in the United States.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — Profile verification assistance and customer support. Data may be processed in the United States.
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook Pixel) — Advertising analytics and conversion tracking. Data may be processed in the United States.

All service providers are bound by contractual obligations to process your data only for the specified purposes and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

6.3 With Law Enforcement and Regulators

We may disclose your personal data where required or permitted by law, including:

  • In response to lawful requests from law enforcement agencies, courts, or government authorities
  • To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or legal processes
  • To protect the rights, property, or personal safety of KP, our Users, or the public

6.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer and any choices you may have regarding your data.


7. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside India, including the United States, where our service providers (Firebase/Google Cloud, Anthropic, Meta) operate their infrastructure.

Such transfers are made with your consent and are subject to appropriate safeguards, including contractual commitments from our service providers to protect your data in accordance with applicable laws.


8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for the following periods:

  • Active Account Data: For as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to allow for reactivation
  • Payment and Transaction Records: For eight (8) years from the date of the transaction, as required under applicable tax and financial regulations
  • Support Tickets and Communications: For three (3) years from the date of resolution
  • Audit Logs: For five (5) years from the date of creation
  • Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymised data may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes
  • Deleted Accounts: Personal data from deleted accounts is purged within ninety (90) days, except where retention is required by law

9. Data Subject Rights (DPDPA 2023)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights:

  1. Right to Access: You have the right to obtain a summary of your personal data being processed by us.
  2. Right to Correction: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You can update most information directly through your account settings.
  3. Right to Erasure: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. You can close your account through the Settings page or by emailing cancellation@kunkupatri.com.
  4. Right to Nominate: You have the right to nominate another person to exercise your data rights in case of your death or incapacity.
  5. Right to Grievance Redressal: You have the right to file a complaint with our Grievance Officer regarding the processing of your personal data.
  6. Right to Complain to the Data Protection Board: If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.

10. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18 years. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a minor, we will take steps to delete such data promptly.


11. Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Support for multiple authentication methods
  • Firebase App Check: Protection against automated abuse and bot traffic using reCAPTCHA v3
  • Firestore Security Rules: Database-level access controls to ensure Users can only access authorised data
  • HTTPS Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/SSL
  • Access Controls: Role-based access controls for administrative functions
  • Regular Security Reviews: Periodic review of security practices and access controls

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your personal data.


12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors.

Material changes will be communicated to registered Users via email or prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
